Extend your WoltLab Suite with a modern PayPal Checkout integration and offer your customers a familiar payment method directly in the purchase flow. The plugin uses the PayPal Orders API, redirects buyers securely to PayPal and automatically processes successful payments inside WoltLab Suite.
The important difference to the PayPal integration already available in the Suite is the focus of this extension: It is built for modern checkout and shop workflows. It uses signed checkout data, verified PayPal webhooks, separate test and live credentials, and clean processing of refunds and payment events. This makes it especially useful for YoureCom Shop and for payment flows that need more than a simple payment button.
PayPal Checkout integrates into the WoltLab Suite payment framework and can be used by applications that trigger payments through that framework. In YoureCom Shop, PayPal becomes another payment building block alongside Stripe, bank transfer and other payment methods.
The extension creates PayPal orders server-side through the Orders API and processes callbacks through verified webhooks. Relevant events such as approved orders, completed payments, refunds and PayPal disputes can be mapped back to the payment status inside the Suite.
For operators, this means less manual work, clearer payment states and a stronger foundation for automated shop workflows.
Together with the YoureCom off-session payment foundation, PayPal Checkout can use stored PayPal payment methods. This is especially useful when payments should be triggered later without another active buyer interaction, for example for automated follow-up payments.
This functionality requires the merchant's PayPal account to be enabled by PayPal for the required Vault or Reference Transaction features.
With YoureCom Shop, PayPal Checkout becomes part of a complete sales workflow. Customers select PayPal during checkout, the payment is handed over to PayPal and successful payments are processed inside the Suite.
Together with Stripe, Subscriptions and Shipping, it creates a flexible shop stack for digital products, services, subscriptions and physical goods.
