Why choose MultiHunter?
Multiple accounts are not just annoying – they can manipulate discussions, hide abuse cases, or bypass bans.
MultiHunter helps detect such cases early on – without putting all users under general suspicion.
Stay in control with smart detection routines, flexible filters, and practical investigation tools.
What does MultiHunter do?
MultiHunter checks every login and registration for similarities with existing users. It currently uses 9 different fingerprinting methods, including:
- Registration IP comparison
- Login IP comparison (time-restricted)
- Cookie-based fingerprint
- LocalStorage & IndexedDB (HTML5)
- Canvas fingerprinting
- WebGL fingerprinting
- AudioContext fingerprinting
- Analysis of browser and system data
- Trashmail detection with a constantly growing database
Each check can be enabled individually and optionally combined with automatic banning.
Smart Search
Search through all stored fingerprints – whether by IP, screen resolution, language, OS, plugin strings, or the browser used.
Even users who deleted cookies or changed their IP can be identified – thanks to persistent browser-based traits.
Feature Overview
- Profile boxes & ACP display of potential multiple accounts
- Whitelist management for allowed exceptions (e.g. family, team)
- Optional auto-ban system – including grace period & custom message
- Request form for double account approval (optional)
- Notifications in the ACP or as forum posts (incl. grouping & time frames)
- Efficient trashmail domain detection
- Own API to report unknown data (can be disabled)
- Fully configurable via ACP & user group permissions
- Multilingual support (German / English)
